2025 Reelworld Film Festival + Summit
| Client: Reelworld Screen Institute |
The Reelworld Screen Institute has existed as an unwavering platform for BIPOC screen professionals and Canadian content since its inception in 2001. During the course of over 25 years, its Reelworld Film Festival has become the largest national festival of its kind, screening independent features and shorts of diverse genre.
The Institute serves as an umbrella for the Festival and additional crucial industry initiatives connecting screen professionals with industry leaders, mentors, and premiere events and festivals.
For more than 15 years we’ve worked intensively with Reelworld to create their artwork and festival program, conceptualizing abstract poster designs void of human faces – as per client directives – to convey the essence of each year’s theme without any specific reference to race.
In 2025, we conceived a dynamic AI-compiled graphic combining a camera lens with the form of a crest to symbolize Reelworld as an established entity – and moving to the future – as a significant and permanent fixture in Canada’s screen industry.

We positioned 27% of a camera lens as the poster’s lone graphic, representing the percentage of the Canadian population that identifies as Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC). This is particularly significant to Reelworld as a film festival that advocates for filmmakers and screen projects representative of this demographic.
2021
A vortex of relative elements, offset by a faint spiral of words bearing the festival title, pulls the viewer into film, in our 21st Reelworld poster design.
2020
Our 20th annual poster artwork features a bold graphic that speaks to Reelworld’s unwavering position as an advocate – a voice – for diversity in Canada’s screen industry.
2019
That ‘at-the-movies’ feeling that comes over you is what you get at the Reelworld Film Festivals – and the 19th annual poster design: movies that take you away.
2018
In much earlier times, constellations were used as navigation guides, while different cultures have cultivated a rich oral tradition around them. Our poster concept explores the idea of connecting film with the purposes of storytelling and ‘leading the way’, via a cluster of stars that lines connect to form a constellation in the shape of a film camera.

In previous years, our role with Reelworld expanded beyond conceptualizing artwork and designing the festival program, to creating a range of materials, such as advertisements, passes, schedule and step-and-repeats.
In 2015, we created a new interior layout template for the program to be used going forward, additionally resizing it to a compact-sized booklet, while the artwork we created that year was transferred across festival passes and screen backdrops.
