During the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, The Black Scientists’ Task Force on Vaccine Equity, in partnership with the City of Toronto, was created to address vaccine awareness throughout Toronto’s Black community.

Among the most vulnerable to contract COVID-19,  disinformation about the COVID-19 vaccines, cultural beliefs and a long history of medical experimentation on black people, contributes to a deep mistrust surrounding local vaccination efforts.

In 2020, our services were retained for the design of the Task force’s website, TorontoBlackcovid.ca, which served as a trusted source of information to black Canadians about the COVID-19 virus and vaccine options, as well as virtual information sessions and town hall meetings.
